A used hybrid's odometer and auction grade do not establish battery health. Ask what testing, service history and warranty documents exist for the specific car, and consider a specialist inspection.

01
Ask what was actually measured
A model name, age, odometer or auction grade cannot stand in for a measured battery result. If a seller cites battery health, ask for the test date, method and written result. If none exists, treat its condition as unknown.
02
Compare the whole car
Review the service history, warning lights, fuel economy label, tyre condition and any warranty terms. The energy label is an estimate for comparison; actual costs depend on how and where you drive.
03
Decide with evidence
A specialist inspection can identify concerns before purchase. Ask which inspection and service records Motor Traders can supply for the vehicle you want.
